Before You Order: A Research Supply Checklist

A few checks before checkout can save unnecessary back-and-forth. Use this simple guide to plan your next research-supply order.
Research-supply planning still life with vials, notebook and parcel

A straightforward order starts with a clear list. Before adding products to your basket, take a moment to confirm exactly what is required, which options you need and where the parcel should go.

This short checklist brings those decisions together, from choosing the correct listing to keeping useful records after delivery. It is designed for purchasing research supplies, not for selecting products for personal use.

1. Write Down the Exact Product

Use the complete product name rather than an abbreviation from a message or an older order. Include any qualifiers shown in the listing, the selected size and the supplied format.

If you are ordering for someone else, confirm that list with them before checkout. It is much easier to resolve an unclear name or size at this stage than after an order has entered dispatch.

2. Check Size and Quantity Separately

Where a product has more than one size, select the required option deliberately and check it again in the basket. Then review the quantity. The amount listed for a product and the number of items being purchased are separate details.

For a bundle, check the displayed contents rather than assuming every offer contains the same number of vials. Compare the complete basket with your list, including any lab supplies you intend to order alongside the peptides.

3. Resolve Product Questions Early

Read the product description before checkout. If the name, size, format or included items are not clear, send the product link and your question to UKDP support. A specific question is easier to answer than a request based only on a photograph.

Keep the answer with your purchasing notes where it affects the order. Your own research requirements and procedures should determine what information you need before proceeding.

4. Check Delivery Details Against Your Schedule

Dispatch and delivery are not the same event. Dispatch is when an order leaves the seller; delivery is when the carrier brings it to the destination. Allow for both when planning around a project date.

UKDP’s Shipping & Delivery page explains current services, charges and processing conditions. Orders are normally processed on working days, and payment or address checks can affect when they are ready to leave. Carrier delivery aims are not guarantees, so avoid treating an estimated arrival date as a fixed appointment.

5. Review the Basket and Address

Before paying, check the product names, selected sizes, quantities, delivery option and total. Make sure the delivery address includes the correct building details and postcode, and use an email address you can access for order messages.

If an address needs changing afterwards, contact support immediately. Changes depend on the request being actioned before dispatch; do not assume a sent message has already changed the order.

6. Keep the Confirmation and Check the Parcel

Save your order number and confirmation email. When the parcel arrives, compare the labels and quantities with the order while the packaging is still available. If something is missing, damaged or incorrect, contact support with the order number and clear photographs where relevant.
