How to Read a Peptide Product Label

Names, sizes and formats explained. A straightforward guide to the details worth checking before you choose a research peptide.

A useful product label should make the essentials easy to find: what the product is, the listed amount and the form in which it is supplied. Reading those details together helps you compare options without relying on a familiar name or an image alone.

Here is a simple way to work through a peptide product page and check that the item in your basket matches what you intended to order.

Start With the Full Product Name

Read the complete name, including any suffixes, numbers or qualifiers. Shortened names can be convenient in conversation, but they are not always precise enough for a purchasing record. For example, a listing marked CJC (No DAC) should be recorded with that qualifier, not shortened to CJC.

Use the full catalogue name when comparing a listing with your research documentation. If two descriptions appear similar but do not match, ask for clarification rather than assuming they refer to the same material.

Keep the Amount and the Unit Together

The number only makes sense alongside its unit. Milligrams, written as mg, describe mass; millilitres, written as ml or mL, describe volume. They are different measurements, not alternative ways of writing the same quantity. The BIPM guide to measurement units provides the underlying definitions.

On a product with several size options, check the selected variation before adding it to your basket. A product photograph may illustrate the range rather than the exact size currently selected. The product title, variation selector and basket line should be read together.

Separate Product Size From Pack Quantity

A listed amount and the number of vials in an order answer two different questions. Check the amount shown for the individual product, then confirm the quantity or bundle you have chosen. This is particularly useful when comparing a single item with a multi-item offer.

For your own order notes, record both details in full instead of saving only the headline product name.

Read the Format Description

A format description such as Lyophilised Powder adds another useful part of the specification. Keep it alongside the name and size when comparing listings. If the format is unclear, resolve that question before ordering rather than relying on the appearance of the bottle.

Use Identifiers as a Cross-Check

Where a CAS Registry Number is provided, it can help you look up the intended chemical substance independently of a brand name. CAS explains how these identifiers work. An identifier describes a substance; its presence on a label is not, by itself, an analysis of the contents of that particular vial.

Make One Final Comparison

Before checkout, compare the full name, selected size, format and quantity with your intended order. Keep the confirmation email so that you can repeat the same check when your parcel arrives.

Research-use wording also matters: UKDP research peptides are not intended for human or veterinary use. For a question about a listing, size or label, contact our team with the product name and the detail you would like clarified.
